Located on a calcareous sandstone hill, the beautiful medieval village of Castillon du Gard dominates the southern end of the Gorges du Gardon. Restored in the late 1970s, it has the privilege of being the only village to get a view on the Pont du Gard, where you can go walking along the GR63. The village center with its cobbled streets, its gargoyles, its ancient watchtower and its ancient olive trees hosts some quality shops, including a baker, butcher-caterer, three cafes, a newsagent, four restaurants including two gourmet, a beauty salon and a hairdresser.
