The villa of Cefalicchio was originally built in 1700 as a farm and the rural buildings were only transformed in 1904 into a country residence. Situated in a typically Mediterranean hilly landscape, delightful in all seasons, it is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The atmosphere of a private residence makes it an exclusive heaven of peace and tranquillity where guests are encouraged to make an independent and personal use of all living areas.

The villa has been restored with great care to maintain the original structure and is furnished with period furniture. A stone stairway leads to a terrace that runs around the entire perimeter of the main floor (for private use), where large, luminous rooms have maintained their nineteenth century appearance. At the back of the villa the farmyard was the area once devoted to agricultural activities. Pine trees separate the villa from the swimming pool, a simple basin dug out of the tufa and surrounded by olives, cypresses and aromatic shrubs.

At the ground floor there are 5 mini suites for guests and their families. A king room with Jacuzzi, a suite with sauna, a historical deluxe room, a family room and a standard double room. The tastefully furnished suites have a rustic and romantic charm. Nearby a bright swimming pool surrounded by the nature of the place is surrounded by pines and cypresses. A large rustic hall hosts the reception as well as a large sitting room

The restaurant – the Osteria Cefalicchio - faces the farmyard. Few tables for our guests and a few lucky others. A chef – Sabino Scolletta – firmly based in the terroir and its tradition. A simple and strictly seasonal cuisine. The adjoining vegetable garden is among our best suppliers. Terroir wines wait for you in the cellar.

At the heart of a region famous for its art, culture and landscape, Cefalicchio is also an ideal starting point for excursions to the Murgia and Gargano areas and nearby historic sites (such as Canosa, Trani, Castel del Monte, the “trulli” and the fortified “masserie”).
