Description
Our guesthouse is situated on the Kwazulu Natal coast just 60 kilometers south of Durban. We are in the lazy town of Umkomaas which derives its name from the Umkomazi river. Umkomazi is the Zulu word which means Whale cow. The river was at one time large and deep enough to allow whale cows to swim upriver to calve. The Shark and Shoal has a magnificent view over the river.

All six rooms are en-suite with modern bathroom facilities. Rooms either have king size, queen or single beds to suit your requirements. Rooms are fitted with airconditioners, flat screen TVs, DSTV, Wifi, barfridge, coffee and tea facilities and hairdryers. For extra security and comfort all doors and windows have secure shutters. All rooms have their own private patio area and entrance.

Set in Umkomaas.
Shark and Shoal is ideally situated for access to several outdoor activites ranging from decadently relaxing beach lounging to ultra active kayak fishing. Being on the coast all the outdoor activities are weather dependent but the south coast offers a beautiful climate. Our most beautiful months tend to be April, May and June but the rest of the year is still very pleasant. Remember, February tends to be very hot and humid for those who like to sweat those kilos off.
