Accommodation
We do offer six standard twin rooms, four standard self catering chalets with three rooms sleeping 6 or 8 guests. Four dormitories which are equipped with bunk beds can sleep up to 56 guests.Breakfast is available on request which is served in our breakfast room or on the veranda overlooking the majestic Outeniqua mountains. Functions and barbecue facilities are also available.
Step Aside offers various and flexible accommodation options.
Standard Rooms: Rooms 1 – 6 are standard twin bedded rooms supplied with basic amenities and an en suite bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet. Linen and towels are provided and the rooms are serviced on a daily basis.
Six Sleeper Chalets: Units 7 & 8 are the six sleeper units with 3 bedrooms, two showers and 2 toilets. Every room has got a basin and twin beds. The unit has also got a lounge and kitchen.
Eight Sleeper Chalets: Units 9 & 10 are the eight sleeper units with 3 bedrooms, two showers and 2 toilets. Every room has got a basin and twin beds / bunk beds. The unit has also got a lounge and kitchen.
The Dormitories: The dormitories can accommodate a total of 56 guests. Two units can sleep 14 guests each and a unit for 20 and 8 accommodate the rest. All dormitories are equipped with sufficient bathroom, shower and toilet facilities. Linen and towels are on request and the dormitories are serviced on a daily basis.
Conference and Wedding Venue
We cater for weddings and day conferences for up to 150 Guests in our Brother Orlandi Room. The Brother Halbe Room can accommodate up to 50 participants cinema style.
We offer self catering functions for school and sport groups and also fully cater for events and coordinate weddings and conferences to your specifications.

Rates & Reservations
- Standard Rooms: R 280 per person sharing on basis of bed only, R 380 single.
- Chalets: R 500/ chalet and R 100 single supplement per person sharing.
- Backpacker/Dormitories: R 140 per person sharing. R 170 per person sharing including linen.
Conference Rooms:
- Brother Orlandi Room: Full Day R 1500. Half Day R 800.
- Brother Halbe Room: Full Day R 600. Half Day R 400.
- Use of kitchen and glassware, cutlery and crockery for 70 Guests R 1500.00 full or half day same price.
Conference Packages:
- Full Day: Coffee, tea, biscuits on arrival, 2 Coffee, tea breaks with selection of either Danishes/muffins/scones (mid morning and afternoon) Water, cordials and sweets on the tables. Light lunch or finger lunch.
- R 150.00 per person
This includes the use of the 42 inch plasma TV in Brother Halbe Room, flip chart and white board markers. The data projector in Brother Orlandi Room can be rented for R 400 per session/day. Please enquire for overnight conferences/group booking and all functions as well as for breakfast and lunches / diner for groups.We do offer special prices for training courses staying in our dormitories – R 310.00 per person per night sharing, full board and two tea breaks and a discount on your facilitator! We can offer from self catering functions up to full 5 Star service – the choice is yours!
Prices are inclusive of VAT but exclusive of Tourism Levy, prices might change without prior notice. Deposit 50% within five working days to secure your booking, rest 14 days prior to arrival.
