Description
Herkko is a peaceful, cosy hotel close to nature, on the outskirts of the village Taivalkoski. As a guest you are recieved as is customary in these parts, spontaneously and without pretence. Herkko always offers you the best: a pleasant stay, comfortable rooms and tasty food.
Hotel Herkko is situated directly beside the Ski Resort Taivalvaara and the trails for skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiles start right away from the hotel yard. You can reach the village Taivalkoski in a very short time by walk. For indoor activity and relaxation our gym and mini-spa are free of chargefor our guests!
All 30 rooms are equipped with telephone, TV, WLAN internet connection, a drying cupboard, toilet and shower and can be equipped with an extra bed.
Besides our standard double rooms, there are three special rooms available: "Riitu's & Herkko's Kamari" and two apartment rooms.

Riitu's and Herkko's room provide you with a little bit more space and an own private sauna is waiting for you.
Apartment rooms
In the newest part of the hotel are two cozy apartment rooms, in which you can enjoy the life in a way you yourself prefer. Just open the door and enjoy the view from your terrace. And whenever you feel like cooking, the small kitchen is at your disposal. Fridge, water basin and microwave oven are included.
Herkko’s spa facilities include 3 saunas, a jacuzzi and a children’s pool. The hotel offers sports activities such as discgolf and can also arrange snowmobile safaris as well as Nordic walking tours.
The surrounding area offers excellent skiing, and hiking trails start right outside the door.
