The River Quarter (Rivierenbuurt) was built between 1920 and 1940 as part of the South-Plan of the architect HP Berlage . In the Rivierenbuurt you will find many buildings built according to the typical style of the Amsterdam school of architecture. Famous architects like Michiel de Klerk and Piet Kramer have worked here. In the southern part of the area is the Martin Luther King Park, a beautiful city park, where every August a theater festival takes place. And also just around the corner of the big city park Beatrix Park with its herb garden, art collection and relaxing areas. And do not forget to enjoy the swimming pool with its outdoor swimming pool and its beautiful, a bit of Amsterdam sun. In this genuine "local" neighborhood you will find many nice boutiques and proper local cafes and restaurants. Besides the many wonderful museums in other areas of Amsterdam, we highly recommend you visit the Anne Frank House .
